Christmas gift planner

Set the total before the shopping starts.

A Christmas budget is not the same thing as a gift budget. Keep room for delivery, cards, wrapping, or the person you forgot to count, then see what is genuinely available for the gifts on your list.

Build your gift budget

Start with the total you are comfortable spending. Reserve the costs that are easy to forget, then add the people you want to plan for.

Use the same currency for every amount. This calculator does not convert currencies.

Who are you buying for?

Add a name and the gift you have in mind for each person you are buying for.

This calculator runs in your browser. Names, gift ideas, and amounts are not sent to GiftFoxly or saved by this page.

Print or save as PDF from your browser's print dialog. The printed plan includes the totals, reserve, and each recipient's gift and amount.

Christmas planning timeline

Six checkpoints, without calendar panic.

Begin whenever it feels useful. The order matters more than a particular month.

  1. 01

    Start early

List the people you plan to give to and capture ideas as they appear. Leave room for someone you may remember later.

  2. 02

    Set a comfortable total

Choose a total budget before assigning per-person amounts. The plan should support the season, not create pressure.

  3. 03

    Confirm the idea

Check sizes, interests, delivery dates, and whether the person has already bought the item.

  4. 04

    Shop with the list

Mark gifts as shopping or purchased and keep receipts or order details somewhere secure.

  5. 05

    Wrap and label

Tick wrapped only after the name tag is attached. It prevents the late-night mystery parcel.

  6. 06

    Finish the history

After giving, note what each person received so next Christmas starts with useful context.

Budget by person

Set the total before the shopping begins.

A per-person amount is a planning boundary, not a score for how much someone matters.

Write a total that fits your real life, then reserve part of it for delivery, cards, wrapping, or a person you may have missed. Divide the rest across people. If an idea exceeds its row, decide deliberately whether to rebalance the plan instead of letting the total drift.

Use actual prices after purchase. That turns a hopeful estimate into a clear view of what remains.

Private planning

Keep the surprise with the giver.

Do not leave a completed printable in a shared printer tray or an unlocked shared folder. GiftFoxly is designed as a giver-side planner, with personal ideas kept inside your authenticated account.
